For a wedding or civil partnership with a difference!

As Todmorden Unitarian Church is no longer consecrated, it is not possible to actually have a legal ceremony in the grounds. The legal side of any ceremony, be it marriage or civil partnership, will therefore have to be held elsewhere. However, the building does offer a unique opportunity for blessings and wedding receptions. The advantage of this of course is that the service or reception can be tailored to suit your exact wishes without the restrictions imposed on formal ceremonies.

There have been several very successful services in recent years in the church, including two large wedding receptions with two more planned for 2007. Experience is building up! The setting and acoustics are fantastic. In the past year we have had live music in the form of a choir, cover band, folk band, west African drummers and even karaoke, all have been proven to be a great success.

Please be aware that if you decide to arrange an event at the church, the organisation is left very much up to yourself. Whilst this is a definite advantage in that it gives you the freedom to arrange the event according to your preferences, the church currently has no kitchen or toilet facilities and is not cleaned on a regular basis. This has not stopped the success of prior events though as caterers and toilets can be organised, as can a clean prior to the event! The local committee are available and happy to help out in offering advice and contacts but do not have the time or inclination to offer a full wedding planning or management service!

Charges for services are based on the Church of England "Table of Parochial Fees", the fee for a simple service starts at �113, however charges may go up in 2007.
